The County Championships began in 1946 and in the early days Middlesex had a monopoly of the Senior Premier Division Championships. In total, Middlesex has won the Senior championship a record 34 times, added to 17 successes at Junior level event, 5 Cadet titles and 5 Veterans’ titles.
Middlesex has nurtured two World champions and numerous international players, and at one time could boast 23 member Leagues, over 30 Inter-League teams and over 80 qualified umpires. Prestigious tournaments took place within the county ranging from World and European Championships, the English Open and as many as four other open events per season. All this was supported by experienced administrators at all levels of the game.
Today, we still have a number of talented juniors who we consider stars of the future. Some of our former junior players have represented England at junior level and now are doing so at senior level.
